There was a mid-drama at the Oval Office on Wednesday when President Donald Trump ambushed his South African counterpart, President Cyril Ramaphosa with a video clip of alleged white genocide in South Africa.

According to a video making the rounds, Trump, while in talks with the South African president and his delegation, asked an aide to dim the lights of the Oval Office before playing the video.

President Ramaphosa and his team could be seen watching in stunned silence at footage that the US President believed supported his claims that the South African Government was turning a blind eye to violence against white citizens.

The footage captured a moment South African opposition leaders were allegedly calling for the death of white farmers.

However, after watching the video, President Ramaphosa told Trump that he had condemned those remarks, stressing that his political coalition had been built to sideline those calling for violence.

DAILY POST recalls that a group of 59 white South Africans had dumped the country and moved to the United States under the directive of President Trump, who earlier condemned the alleged genocide.

President Ramaphosa had, while reacting to the departure of the white citizens, described them as “cowards.”

According to him, South Africans are resilient people who stay to solve their country’s problems.
