Davido’s upcoming project hits new milestone on Apple Music charts

Nigerian music superstar Davido has once again proven his dominance in the industry as his forthcoming album, 5ive, surged to a new peak of #3 on Nigeria’s Apple Music Top Albums chart, despite not yet being officially released.

The highly anticipated album, scheduled for release on April 18, 2025, will be Davido’s fifth studio project, following the success of Timeless in 2023. The project is expected to feature an exciting mix of Afrobeats, Amapiano, and Dancehall, with guest appearances from top artists such as YG Marley, Odumodublvck, and Chike.

Although the full album is yet to drop, Davido has already released three singles from 5ive, further building anticipation for the project. Awuke (feat. YG Marley) introduced a reggae-influenced sound that showcases Davido’s versatility alongside Bob Marley’s grandson, YG Marley. Funds (feat. Odumodublvck & Chike), released on December 6, 2024, blends Afrobeats and Amapiano, while sampling Brenda Fassie’s classic hit Vul Indlela. Today, Davido released another single, Be There Still, giving fans another taste of what to expect from 5ive.

Despite not being officially out, 5ive climbing to #3 on Apple Music’s Nigeria Top Albums Chart highlights the massive anticipation surrounding the project. This ranking suggests strong pre-orders, streaming traction, and fan excitement, making it one of the most awaited albums of 2025. With just over a month until its official release, 5ive is poised to be another record-breaking album for Davido, cementing his legacy as one of Africa’s biggest musical exports on Apple Music and beyond.
